A new and glorious morn!

Early Christmas morning, before Rachael and the kids got up, I went up to the barn to feed Rolex. After he was fed and I put him and some hay out in the pasture, I was walking out of the barn and turned to close the door and it hit me. It was just like this, 2000 years ago. Born on a cold night in a stable, with animals and hay and straw and dirt floors, Jesus set aside the glory of Heaven, humbled Himself into the body of a human, and came into this world to save us from our sins.

I had my iPod in my pocket playing Christmas music and at just that moment I heard the song that was playing..."O Holy Night". All of a sudden, it hit me... the barn, the smells, the crisp, cold air and the realization/reminder that He did all that for you and me. Wow. I just stood there for a minute, taking it all in, and just as I turned to go, the song got to the part... "A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices, For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!"

As I turned, I looked up and the sun was just breaking through the early morning clouds and fog over the mountain top. I have to tell you... I was overwhelmed. God sent His Son because He loves us. What a new and glorious morn this was! May we all be filled afresh! His mercies are new every morning! Merry Christmas!
